Richard Wilson
I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and grew up in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia), Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa. I began studies in classical piano and violin at the Rhodesian Academy of Music, Bulawayo, culminating in a Fellowship in Piano from the Trinity College of Music, London.
I played keyboards and violin professionally from age fifteen in various rock bands in South Africa (amongst them McCully Workshop and The Wright Brothers), as well as doing recording work, song-writing, arranging and record production. From the early ‘80s I have played solo piano mainly in France, Switzerland, Norway as well as my native Africa (South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland and Zimbabwe).
Apart from numerous recording projects with other artists, I have written, arranged and produced three solo albums.
I have played onboard "The World" Residences at Sea since August 17, 2003, and am married to Cindy.
I am a keen jogger and am likely to be seen pounding the pavement in all ports of call around the world.
